Aging is often feared by many people due probably to the immense
difference that it can bring forth to one's appearance. With aging come
the wrinkles, creases, lines and other imperfections that can visibly
show on the skin. Thus, many people are always looking at modern creams,
pills or even surgical treatments that can bring back skin's youth and
beauty. However, even if you do not have a huge amount of money to spend
on these aging cures, you can still revive your young-looking
appearance through neck and face exercises.
What These Exercises Do
Your neck and your face are first affected by aging. It is in these areas that the first signs of old age appear. Exercising the muscles help increase circulation in these parts so that free radicals can be effectively fought off. Free radicals are believed to be the main culprit of sagging skin and wrinkles.
Flexibility of the neck is also enhanced by the exercises so that stiffness and soreness from daytime activities may be prevented. Neck pains, if left unattended to can cause eventual back pains. Sinus headaches and other pains associated with pressure can also be relieved by these face and neck workouts. Also, with these aerobics, your neck can become stronger to keep head up longer.
Do The Head Drop
Bring the chin close to the chest. Hold the breath before dropping your head backward as far away as possible. Then, drop the head to the right side, with the ear close to the right shoulder (but make sure your shoulders will not budge). Hold your breath again before doing the same steps in shifting toward the left side. You can make 5-10 repetitions.
Roll Your Neck
Again, the chin should be brought to the chest. Rotate your head clockwise for three times and then counter-clockwise for three times too.
Raise Your Scalp And Forehead
Focus your eyes on something and then raise your eyebrows to produce tension in your forehead. Hold a breath before you bring down your eyebrows. Make three repetitions.
Squint Half Of Your Face
Use your right hand to hold the right side of the face. Squint the left side of face while holding the right side like this so that it will be kept relaxed during the exercise. In working the left side, be sure that the muscles of mouth and eyes are correctly tensed. Relax the left side before repeating two more times. Repeat the same steps to work out the right side.
Squint Entire Face
Both eyes should squint when you attempt to move all your facial muscles toward the tip of nose. Hold your breath for a while before relaxing the face to make two more repetitions.
Blow A Kiss
Plainly pucker the lips and blow; as if you were blowing a kiss to another person. This exercise will make your lips firm and can even add romantic points if you practice performing it with your special someone.
Finally, after doing all these exercises, conclude your facial aerobic session by performing meditation to relax mind and body. Meditation helps relieve tension in your body that causes stressed expressions on your face.
